Description

The Batinah is a fertile strip of date palms and vegetable gardens varying in width from one to three miles and running parallel with the coast from near Muscat to the border with the United Arab Emirates> Further inland are flat gravel plains. The Batinah is on a migratory route and as such receives birds in transit as well as its localised birds. All the bird illustrations are quite lovely and I assume are done by the author/s but the book does not say this.
