Description

Christian Lacroix: The Diary of a Collection is a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's most influential fashion designers, Christian Lacroix, as he creates a new couture collection. Here we see for the first time, and at first hand, the entire creative process through which a fashion show is made – from Lacroix's sources of inspiration to the finished creations that make their way down the Paris runways. The genesis for this book came about when American Vogue approached Lacroix and asked him to prepare a scrapbook of his working methods for an upcoming couture collection in Paris. What started out as a magazine assignment quickly developed into a creative, personal journey for Lacroix as he began filling up scrapbook after scrapbook with Polaroids, handwritten notes, hand-drawn sketches, historical fashion references, and visual references cut out from magazines.
