Description
Tiny split on the bottom spine. Numerous black and white photos. The author tells us that Britain, unlike France, never had a colonial army as such; instead vast tracts of her Empire were policed and defended by men whose role was to keep the peace until further help arrived.
Note: Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. No foxing in this copy. Dust Jacket has small closed tears, but otherwise complete and overall sound. Dust Jacket un-clipped. Edges very slightly spotted or marked. Boards have some slight shelf wear.
