Mount Everest 1938

Description

A book on the fifth expedition to climb Mt Everest led by H W Tilman. The expedition did not make it to the top due to very heavy snowfall but the expedition was organised along different lines that previous trips and Tilman explains those principles. The date of the expedition (1938) and the date of the book's publication (1948) was due to the intervention of WWII.
