At the time of writing Michael Somare was the chief minister of PNG. He was brought up in and initiated into the tradition of Sana, a philosophical tradition of fighting and peace-making and the book tells of how he constantly seeks guidance from this philosophy. There is a lengthy note written by and signed by the author on the title page.
