In his book, The Port of Brisbane, its people and its personalities, Peter Ludlow follows the development of our port from its wharves in the city centre and moves with them downriver to its development at its present location at Fisherman Islands. However, the book is much more than that: it is a history of the Brisbane River itself, from Aboriginal times to the present day, encompassing our association with the river through commerce, study, and recreation.
