Description
The weather on the night of August 31, 1959 was clear with a slight south-easterly breeze. The tide was ebbing and the sea calm. At about 2am the mate of the Platypus 11, which was anchored 80 yards away, reported that Mourilyan had sunk. The master, Ernest Brackley had been rescued but the other three crew were unaccounted for.
