Description
This handsome book was published as a tribute to Tony Tuckson's work and combines colour and black-and-white plates with essays by his peers in the arts administration world, Daniel Thomas and Renee Free. Tuckson was deputy director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 1957 until his death in 1973. Best known in his lifetime for this important administrative role, Tuckson was also an innovative abstract painter who, at his death at the age of 52, had shown solo only twice and is only now receiving the recognition due to him as a painter.
